Until this year, over 200,000 fishermen made their living off the waters of the longest river to flow within one country. The Yangtze moves through 11 major provinces, regions and municipalities in China including Sichuan, Tibet and Shanghai. But now a fishing ban has been introduced to help restore fish populations, which belong to one of the most biodiverse aquatic cultures.
