Gillian and Ted live in Shanghai with their three children, and like everyone else there, they’ve had to adapt to the city’s new strict waste sorting rules. The rules are part of efforts to test drive innovative new methods to fight the global war on waste that threatens to overrun our planet. If their family, and 23 million other Shanghai residents, succeed in making recycling an everyday part of their routine, this new model may provide a template for making the whole world a greener, healthier place. In this episode, they share what their family is doing to recycle smarter and better.
